These terms of use apply resources that are labelled as 'free':

The resource can be shared with anyone - teachers, students, etc.
The resource can be posted on a social media page or a public web page. It must be the whole file without any editing or omissions.
The images cannot be re-used for other purposes (unless you have obtained the rights to use them). The images belong to the original artist/photographer.
The resources cannot be sold.
For any other situation that is not listed here, standard copyright law applies.

The terms of use listed above only apply to free resources. Resources that come with a licence have different terms of use. See below.

These Terms of Use apply to any resource that has an Individual Licence:

Definitions

‘the eBook’ = the English Express Beginner Workbook (eBook) with an Individual Licence
‘the author’ = the author of the eBook (Bernard Miles)
‘the licensee’ = any person who has purchased an Individual Licence to use the eBook

The eBook English Express Beginner Workbook is the intellectual property of the author, Bernard Miles, and is protected by copyright law. The Terms of Use give the licensee some additional permissions that are not usually included in copyright law. The Terms of Use specify in which situations these additional permissions apply. For any situations that are not mentioned in the Terms of Use, standard copyright law applies.

Changing from Individual to Team Licence

If you buy an Individual Licence, and later, your employer buys a Team Licence, you can request a refund for the Individual Licence. You can do this via the 'Enquiries' tab on the website. Conditions: 1) You can only be refunded within 12 months of your purchase. 2) Once you are refunded, the Individual Licence is no longer active. You cannot use that version of the eBook and you must delete it.

The English Express Beginner Workbook (eBook with Individual Licence) is intended for use by one teacher with their own current students. If the licensee is not a teacher (for example, a student who is self-studying), the same licence and the same terms of use still apply. The Individual Licence is not suitable for multiple teachers sharing the same licence. If more than one teacher within an institution is using the eBook, you would require either a separate Individual Licence for each teacher, or a Team Licence. If you believe you have purchased the incorrect licence, contact the author so that the proper licence can be arranged.
The invoice is the proof of the transaction and proof that the licensee has agreed to the Terms of Use. As additional proof, the eBook may include the licensee’s name.
The eBook’s licence is not transferrable to any other person.
The eBook can only be used by the licensee. If the licensee is a teacher, they may share any part of the eBook with their own current students for learning purposes. If the licensee is a student, they may share any part of the eBook with their current teacher for learning purposes. Allowable forms of ‘sharing’ include printing, photocopying, displaying on a screen, sending via email, or uploading to a password-protected content management system that is only accessible to the licensee (teacher) and their students. The licensee cannot share any part of the eBook with anyone else besides their own current students (or their own current teacher if they are a student). When sharing any part of the eBook, the licensee must inform others that they cannot share the contents of the eBook. No part of the eBook can be uploaded to a publicly accessible web page.
The licensee must take all care to ensure that the eBook is not shared beyond their own teacher/student group. If the eBook is illegally uploaded to a publicly accessible web page, the author will be able to trace it back to the original licensee. Legal action will be taken against anyone who participates in intentional, unauthorised sharing on a significant scale.
The eBook (or any part of it) cannot be sold to anyone else, either in printed form or digital form.
The images in the eBook have been obtained by the author from stock image providers. The licensee does not have the right to re-use any images from the eBook for other purposes, unless they have legally obtained the right to use the image from the image’s owner or from the stock image distributer.
The eBook’s licence does not have an expiry date. It does not require any renewals.
Once the eBook is sent to the licensee or downloaded by the licensee, no refund can be provided*. There is a demonstration copy available for potential buyers to assess the suitability of the eBook before purchase. (*unless you are upgrading from an Individual Licence to a Team Licence)
The author may terminate the licence if the licensee infringes these Terms of Use.

Note #1: If any of the eBook content is placed on an intranet or content management system that is accessible by multiple sites, then each site must have their own licence.

Note: #2: This Team Licence is not applicable to institutions/companies that only teach online. In this situation, each teacher would need an Individual Licence or otherwise the author can be contacted for a customised licence.

Note: #3: This Team Licence is not applicable to services or agencies that connect teachers/tutors to students. In this situation, each teacher/tutor would need their own Individual Licence.

The English Express Beginner Workbook (eBook) with a Team Licence is intended for use by one teaching institution, including its current teachers and students. The licence may cover either one site or multiple sites (refer to the footer of the eBook to check if your site is covered). Please refer to the definitions to check if the Team Licence is applicable to you. If you believe you have purchased the incorrect licence, contact the author so that the proper licence can be arranged.
